Although there are no guarantees of being approved, you can increase your chances by making sure you submit all their requirements. The good news is Japan Embassy has announced that they are relaxing the visa requirements to Philippine passport holders applying for a tourist visa. This is especially applicable to the following types of applicant:
-a regular employee of the government
-an employee of a private company that is any of the following:
- affiliated to a Japanese company
- listed on the stock exchange
- has constant business transaction with a Japanese company
- employed by any of the top 1000 Philippine corporations
- a regular employee with a travel record in Japan for a business trip
- a regular employee with more than three travel record in Japan for a business trip in the last three years

3. Japan visa photo. Yes, there is a specific type of photo required by Japan Embassy for their visa application. Make sure to mention it to the place where you will have your photo taken.
4. Certificate of Employment that includes your salary, tenure and position in the company. If you are the owner of the company, submit a copy of your business registration from DTI or SEC.
5. If applying for a multiple-entry visa, submit an explanation letter why you should be granted one.
6.Birth certificate from PSA and not NSO.
7. Bank Certificate
8. ITR
Tips to Increase Your Chances of Getting Approved:
- You will also be required to submit your day to day itinerary so make sure to have plan the places you want to visit before applying for a visa.
- You will also need to provide the name of the hotel where you intend to stay so make sure to reserve one via Agoda.com. In this way, you don't need to pay anything yet until a week before your travel. So if in case you get denied, you can cancel your reservation without incurring any penalty.
- Make sure your bank has at least 10,000 pesos for each day you plan to stay in Japan. So if you will stay in Japan for 5 days, you should have 50,000 pesos or more in your account. Take note that this is just our tip and is not required by the Japan embassy.
